St. Lucia Rum - S.L.D. 2000
Royal Cane St Lucia 2000.jpg

Tasting Notes:

A rusty amber hue in the glass. Distinct fruity aromas of lychee, apricot, and sour cherry are balanced with notes of Nutella, tobacco, mint, and oak. The palate has a warm & mouthwatering texture with pronounced notes of orange preserves, dark caramel, toasted coconut, and umeboshi. The finish is long and complex with baking spice, toasty oak, and the occasional fresh and zingy element of lychee.

History of the Cask:

This extremely rare Rum was distilled in 2000 at St. Lucia Distillers using their famous John Dore Pot Still No. 1. Fresh off the still, the rum traversed the Atlantic Ocean, to be filled into an ex-Bourbon American white oak cask for a mindblowing 22 years of maturation at the legendary warehouses in the historic docks of Liverpool. Continental aging in the humid and cold climate of northern Europe allows the Rum to mellow over a long time without overwhelming wood influence or excessive losses due to angel’s share.
